Waikato Rugby is pleased to announce the re-signing of exciting midfield back, Quinn Tupaea, extending his contract for a further two seasons that will see him with our province until the end of 2023.

Tupaea, 22, made his provincial debut in 2018 against Manawatu. In his debut season he played in all 12 games for Waikato, starting all matches bar one, scoring a total of 12 tries. Waikato Chief Executive Officer, Carl Moon, said, “Waikato Rugby are very pleased to have retained a player like Quinn.  He is another hardworking player and continues to evolve his game to better himself to reach higher honours.

Quinn is a young, talented and exciting rugby player to watch, with a strong and physical presence on the field.  He is also a local lad, and he and his family are very close to us.  It is wonderful to continue the relationship.

Quinn is keen to build on his already significant contributions to Waikato Rugby while also growing as a force for the Gallagher Chiefs at Super Rugby level, so we look forward to seeing Quinn in the colours for both teams long-term.”

Quinn Tupaea is Waikato Cap 1190 and has scored 95 point by the way of nineteen tries at provincial level.
