Waikato Draught Premiership A Week 1 Preview

The Waikato Draught Premiership A competition got underway last weekend with all the home teams, Hamilton Marist, Fraser Tech, Otorohanga and Melville all recording first up wins. Hamilton Marist, Fraser Tech and Otorohanga are joint leaders at the top of the standings with bonus point wins, Hamilton Marist are the overall leaders due to their points differential. Hautapu play their first match of the 2020 season and Melville this week has the BYE.

LoneStar Hamilton Division 1A Week 2 Preview 

The LoneStar Hamilton Division 1A competition has two joint leaders at the top of the standings with Leamington and Southern United both securing bonus point wins last weekend, with Leamington topping the overall standings with the better points differential. Suburbs, Hinuera and Ohaupo also recorded wins and currently sit third equal.

Gallagher Women’s Premiership Week 2 (Kickoff 1pm)

Three teams recorded bonus point wins in the Gallagher Women’s Premiership. Hamilton Old Boys, defending champions Melville and Putaruru all have 5 points but it is Hamilton Old Boys who occupy the top spot on the standings with a better points differential. Kihikihi play their first match of 2020 this weekend as they host Taupiri and Otorohanga have the BYE.

Division 2 Week 2 (Kickoff 2.45pm)

Three teams recorded three bonus point wins last weekend with Hamilton Old Boys and Kereone by first equal at the top of the standings with 5 points and the same point differential. Raglan has 5 points as well but are 4 points behind on the points differential. Huntly College Old Boys play their first game in Division 2 this week after a Bye last week, while Matangi Hillcrest are on the BYE

Under 85kgs Week 2 (Kickoff 1pm)

Morrinsville Sports continued their dominance in this division securing a bonus point win last weekend. They sit on top of the standings due to having the best points differential, but Hamilton Old Boys and Hamilton Marist both recorded bonus point wins and Fraser Tech also recorded a win last weekend. Melville will play their first game this weekend after a BYE last week, while University is on the BYE this week.

Colts Week 2 (Kickoff 1pm)

Leamington started their defence of the Elliott Shield with a massive bonus point win last weekend to sit a top of the standings with the points differential. They are also joined on 5 points by Fraser Tech and Hamilton Marist who both picked up bonus point wins while Hamilton Boys High School picked up a narrow win over Southern United. United Matamata Combined will play their first match of 2020 after a BYE week last week, while University have the BYE this week.
